Long Span Tower

The LS Tower semi-automatic vertical storage system is designed for the storage of long bar stock. It is most often used for the storage of bars and profiles.

The minimum system assembly is made of a robust welded double tower construction, with optional floor plan and height. The twin tower is adapted to store individual handling units in two towers (columns) facing each other. Containers of handling units are welded structures, dimensioned according to typical transport formats and weights of metallurgical profile bars and tubes. The extractor is part of the lifting manipulator, it performs horizontal transfers of the handling unit from/to the storage positions on both sides of the tower to the lifting device, which moves the unit in the vertical direction between the storage position in the tower and the transfer manipulator at an ergonomic height. The transfer manipulator, by horizontal travel, ensures that the dispensing table with the container and material is moved to a defined distance from the equipment. The handling of bundles and individual bars is usually performed by a crane with a lanyard or magnet. If handling of whole bundles by forklift truck is required, an optional "pick-up" of the material in the transfer position can be provided.
